Privacy Statement
In order to receive or use services on our website, from time to time, you will be asked to submit personal information about yourself – for example, name and email address etc. This refers particularly to newsletters and competitions.
By entering your details in the fields requested, you enable Rock the Boat Consulting Ltd to provide you with the services you select. Whenever you provide such personal information, we will treat that information in accordance with this privacy policy. We will act in accordance with current legislation and aim to meet current internet best practice.
We use cookies on our site. Firstly, in connection with the purchase of products and only on the pages accessed from the ‘book and event’ menu. These are session cookies which are destroyed at the end of the session – ie when the user closes the browser or after the server timeout period which is normally 20 minutes of inactivity. These cookies identify the current visitor so that we can maintain the state on the shopping cart if necessary.
Secondly, cookies may be placed on your computer hard drive by ToolShack, a company which provides information to us on visitors to the site. This information will be non-personal and will include the IP address of visitors’ computers, statistical information about visits to pages on the site, the duration of individual page view, paths taken by visitors through the site, data on visitors’ screen settings and other general information. Rock the Boat uses this information to help improve the services we supply to users.
When you supply any personal information to Rock the Boat Consulting Ltd, we have legal obligations towards you in the way we deal with that data. We must collect the information fairly – that is, we must explain how we will use it. Information will never be supplied to third parties. Under no circumstances will we pass on or sell email addresses to others.
We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as you use the service you have requested, and remove it in the event that the purpose has been met. We will ensure that all personal information supplied is held securely, in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
You have the right to request a copy of the personal information that Rock the Boat Consulting Ltd holds about you and to have any inaccuracies corrected.
